Guillermo Blanco
Guillermo Blanco is an internationally celebrated, award-winning Spanish Interior Designer, originally from La Paz, Bolivia. His cosmopolitan upbringing, which began in London during his primary school years, led him to Madrid, where he pursued his passion for design at the prestigious School of Interior Architecture of Madrid.
Early in his career, Guillermo showcased his versatility by seamlessly blending multiple creative disciplines, including fashion design, editorial design for lifestyle publications like Hecho in Madrid and Ibiza Magazine, interior design, and art direction for films and commercials. His work became emblematic of the vibrant Movida Madrileña movement of the late 80s and 90s, where he made a lasting impact with the design of iconic bars such as Hangar, Zenit, Hanoi, and Libre.
Guillermo’s influence extended into the film industry, where he made significant contributions as a costume designer and art director for films like Loco Veneno and El Mar y el Tiempo, collaborating with renowned Spanish directors such as Fernando Fernán Gómez and Miguel Hermoso.

In the late 90s, Guillermo relocated to La Manga, where he designed luxurious villas for the La Manga Hyatt Resort. The new millennium took him to Mallorca, where he designed hundreds of luxury residences across Spain and prestigious hotels such as the Arabella Sheraton and Nixe Place . His commercial portfolio also grew, with notable projects like Amarcord , a boutique designed for Spanish actress Penélope Cruz, and the popular Black Corner pub in Madrid.
In 2010, Guillermo’s journey took him to London, where he worked on numerous private residences, before moving to Ibiza, where he joined Grupo Mambo. There, he played a key role in shaping the design of iconic venues such as Villa Mercedes , La Cava, Café Mambo , and Savannah, alongside various private residences.
In 2014, Guillermo expanded his international footprint by moving to Dubai, where he became Design Director for firms like CLSE, DHM, and WTS. In this role, he led high-end residential projects in Dubai (Nad Al Shiba) and Abu Dhabi (Saadiyat Villa ), commercial projects such as the Dubai Financial Market, and hospitality ventures across the UAE, Ghana (Accra Service Apartments), and Nigeria (Liberty Hotel).
In 2019, Guillermo moved to Bangkok to lead KZC Studio, where he designed luxurious hotels and residences, including the Dubai Hills villa, Grand Mercure Hotel Riyadh, Jebal Omar Mecca apartment, and Sheraton Kuwait.
By 2021, Guillermo returned to Dubai to establish his own interior design studio, Worldesignteam (WDM). Specializing in high-end projects, his portfolio includes remarkable works such as the W Residences Penthouse on the Palm, ,Lime Tree Villa, and , Palawi Resort in Thailand.
Today, Guillermo resides in Dubai, continuing to lead a diverse range of prestigious international projects across the Middle East and Asia, where he continues to push the boundaries of design excellence.
